I hear you Craig. And I agree, the Klingons provide a foil for the Federation, a different and opposite path, choosing to focus on war rather than peace. Discovery really leans into this idea of opposites and it didn’t work for me.

In Next Generation, I found a lot more nuance in how the Klingons were portrayed. Particularly in the episodes where Picard went before the high council, I could see that he respected their culture and it brought me along with him. Obviously, Worf and B’Elanna help too, even if they are outliers.
